Laminate Veneer

They are thin porcelain layers that are placed only on the front surfaces of the teeth, just like artificial nails are adapted to the fingertips. In some cases, natural tooth-colored composite materials can be used instead of porcelain. Laminas can be made if the teeth have lost material due to caries, traumatized or discolored for various reasons.

What Will My Dentist Do?

Lamina Veneers are generally made of porcelain by dental technicians. If such a plan is made, patients come to the dentist with multiple appointments.

 The dentist first observes the amount of tooth tissue. Checks for fillings, if any.

 A very small amount of abrasions are made from the front surfaces of natural teeth. The reason for this is not to show the teeth too convex and large. Therefore, the dentist may have to anesthetize the teeth.

 The duration of the preparation (abrasion) process varies according to the amount of material in the teeth, the extent to which the teeth are damaged or whether any filling is needed.

 After the procedure is finished, the prosthodontist takes detailed measurements from the mouth with a silicon-based reinforced impression material so that the dental technician can obtain a model in the laboratory and work on the color, form and arrangement of the veneers to be made together with the dentist.

 At the second and last appointment, the teeth are evaluated aesthetically by the prosthodontist together with the patient, and finally they are polished and bonded with a special method.

In some cases, veneers may come out of the teeth. In such a case, the patient should immediately apply to his doctor, and the veneer that comes out is given to the doctor in the patient. The physician immediately re-evaluates the veneer and decides whether it should be adhered or not. If there is any broken or cracked line, the lamina is reconstructed by the physician and delivered to the patient immediately. In some cases, the dentist can also make a laminated veneer directly from the white filling (composite) material in the mouth. For this, the same procedures are applied to the teeth. The only difference is that it is done directly in the mouth, there is no laboratory session. The disadvantage is that the white filling is less durable and more prone to discoloration than porcelain material.

What are the Advantages of Lamina Veneers?

Veneers make teeth look healthy and natural. Because they are very thin, they require very little abrasion. A very aesthetic appearance is obtained by carefully sticking it with a customized adhesive with high holding properties.

What are the Benefits?

 Veneers greatly enhance the appearance. They cover up the flaws. At the same time, a very small part of the natural tooth is lost.

 Veneers also protect the teeth from any impact. Natural tooth surfaces can be eroded over time by acidic foods and beverages. Such abrasions can cause hot or cold sensitivity in the teeth. In such cases, veneers can protect the teeth.

 If the tooth is healthy and sound, veneers are a better option.

Cosmetic Reshaping

 Reshaping or forming is an easy process by removing a small amount of tissue from the tooth surface to change the length, shape and surface form of the teeth. This process is used to correct small nicks, correct protrusions or pits in the enamel of the tooth, adjust the irregular tooth form or adjust the height of the canine teeth.

 This procedure is usually minimally irritating and removes tight contact areas and protrusions, minimizing the formation of deposits and tartar that may form on the teeth. Thus, overall oral health is improved.
